where's my speed/odometer readout!

My car odometer & speed indicator die on me today...must be the drive cable broke off. Only realized it after we headed home from Sunway Pyramid for our wedding photo printouts collection. Darn, there will be not indication of my traveling speed & distance analysis (As information freak, i always keep track on my journey). Arg! will get it repair only after my holiday. Fortunately, i can use my gps as a substitute. Canggih punya barang, tak baik simpan dalam beg je. Pakai kaw-kaw lah.. After all, it give a digital read out & high tech look!

My precious Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx

Gone in 60 seconds.

S*%$, at this instant, we loss our last surviving of 15ft aluminum ladder.... this happen in broad daylight , where it kept on the forklift for 3pm - tea break!! The thieves are getting efficient & bold! Well, look like we have to settle with makeshift wooden ladder, to facilitate the perimeter hoarding dismantling works.

Annual Diary/planner

Received our company's 2007 Diary/planner today...simply love the blue colored simplicity book. (hum, in term of design & content...it look similar to my Prudential's red colored 2007 diary/planner which i received recently. Still prefer the comb binding type hehe). Thank you, boss.

No more 'protection'

As site already being cleared from debri, it is time for the site office perimeter fencing/hoarding to go. In security perspective, we are exposed to the 'dark' world as we are sandwiched between 2 residential flats. So, hired security personnels has to be more vigilant of their surrounding a.k.a work harder to uphold site's integrity. Hope that we can arrange shifting of worker's quarters/office to the new site at Sentul pronto.

The detour...

Ok..ok...better detoured to K. Avenue basement parking before get ourselves stuck in massive traffic jam... It's cat & dog outside!! Rather kill time at KLCC than in car hehe. It's peak hour at KLCC LRT station, so people are swamping around the ticketing counter... hum, seem to me that the Automatic ticket tellers are not popular among the commuter.

Headed down to Auntie Anne's Pretzels stall for quick dinner at Twin Tower. I really enjoyed those pretzels, espeacially the Caramel coated Almond & Cinnamon Sugar hehe. 2 pieces is enough for me to filled up the tank. Thank you, BH kerana belanja makan.

BH is queuing for her turn...

Hey, its Rudolf the red nose reindeer up there...where is Santa?

2 hours later, we headed home after some window shopped. Unfortunately, the jam is not easing!!

1 week to go

Holiday mood already, yeah!!...getting myself busy by preparing some paperworks before hand-over my work to my subordinate. Pre-arrange of workers & material transfer to a new site will be my main priority.

Human Right Day

Fight for your rights( or others too)...Hum, are we really aware of our own surrounding anyway? Everything that's happened surrounds us comes with reasons behind it. Either we simply didn't care or merely close 1 eye is different story... Dig or ask further, then you'll see the real picture. Well, i agreed that things (or the world) change rapidly...either it for good or worse. So, this is a opportunity to 'say your words out' by pool letter writings to relevant authorities, via peacefully way but firm. Hope you & I can make the difference with the small effort form our part. Love & Peace to all Mankind.

Refined clearing works

This is more tedious work, pick-up tiny but dangerous debri manually by hand. Basicaly, it is important to safe guard citizen from getting hurt from broken glass, plank with nails, etc. After we open up our barrier, our ex-office compound will become big 'playground'. Biasalah, when people start seeing open area, macam-macam boleh jadi...kids running around playing football, car started to park inside...you name it.

Our dump site area..will be bury & compacted with earth later

Meet up with my insurance agent

Well, the meeting is quite consistent, normally on Friday lunch hour at pre-designated time & 'makan' places...Had to admit that most people had 'bad' experience in buying or subscribed the insurance policy. Main reason is that some policyholder don't really understand what they are signing on (read: the contract/T&C) or the agents fail to uphold their responsibilities. So, as general rule of thumb, never ever sign-up a contract blindly just merely after listening 'sweet-talks' from agents...read & understand the policy properly (as in written) Also, ask as many 'stupid' questions till you convince hehe

I'm fortunate to have a good & dedicated insurance agent who always keeping on tab with me. Had subscribed life & investment link policy since 3 years ago...where i find it worth to spend on for future usage or safeguard. At this meeting, i'm subscribing another investment/unit trust premium...personally, i cannot trust myself in keeping money on my own.. hujung hujung beli gadget mahal-mahal bila nampak wang lebih hehe.

Beggar's tunnel?

KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) is among a world class holiday & shopping destination for billions of visitors from all parts of the world. What saddened me is the 'unpleasant' scene at the pedestrian tunnel, which the link between the Twin Towers & Putra LRT KLCC underground station. Beggars...yup, beggars in the modern & high tech capitals... are 'stationed' almost at every corner of the entrance or pathway(most of the are abled body thought). Personally, i don't mind seeing the street musician making money out of their own talents , or perhaps the legitimate flea marketeer. Hope that the relevant authority can regulate or clear up the mess before they tarnish our 'clean' image. Guys, do take note that Tahun Melawat Malaysia is next year.

Transfer of knowledge/responsiblities

Time to transfer or share my knowledge/responsibility to my subordinates & workers as I'm going for a looooong leave soon hehe.. hope that they can manage the site properly. It's also a high time for us Block D is speculated to be 'handed-over' on mid-December, so it is wise to brief they early to avoid any complication when I'm not around.

Go Online man..

Just book/purchased our Airasia's flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau via online. Well, the process is fast, secure & convenient. It is only possible if you guys has the credit card's facilities lah. (don't leave home without it too - stolen cards can be replaced, but hard earned cash is not)

If compare to the 'old practice', need to make a phone booking first & head down to counter for payment later. Truth is, apart of sending parcels or registered mail, i had never queue at any post office/bank counter for utilities bill payments since year 2000. After all, most of my 'commitment' paid via autopay facility & online. Insurance premium & unit trust premiums are not spared.

Not all people are felt 'easy' with this type of digital money... i understand, their fear of 'identity & credit theft' are inevitable. Rather somehow, the fear of reliability & accountability of the system itself is always there. We simply cannot shunned ourself away from technology, as things change rather rapidly. As my general rules of thumb, always be vigilant (play it safe) in all dealings.

The pigsty

One of the things that get my BH irritated is my ex-bachelor room hehe. Yup, it's a pigsty!! Ok..ok..i'm not a pig or untidy fellow. The room remained that way since after i 'transfered' to the 'married room'. Too many stuffs/gadgets/bags/accessories/macam-macam adalah inside...what a mess thought, as it seeing more likely a store room. Hope to clear up the mess during weekends (if i rajin enough hehe). Plan to reorganize the room to proper dedicated home workstation (study/computer room)

A slow start

Scheduled for site's constuction waste @ debri clearing works since yesterday, but only 1 tipper lorry turned up only at noon. This is really bad for business lah. According to the hired transporter's manager, most of their driver still sleeping due to previous overnight work.

As for today, 4 tipper lorries are provided to transport the waste out. With this type of work momentum, guess that the clearing works will only be completed within a week time. (originally planned that the work 'should' be completed with 2 - 3 days only)

Clearing & leveling of earth process is critical so that we can proceed with dismantling of perimeter hoarding & finally 'move out' or closed down the site.

With GPS, will measure.

As there are no surveyor personnel available on site, my boss & i decided to use our own consumer base GPSr unit (armed with Dopod P100 & Garmin 60CSx) to set-out the approx. boundary for our new site office at Sentul. Well, need those measurements/reference points for further site layout drawing. Glad that this devices can be suitable 'substitute' for measuring tape in time of emergency hehe. Hum, who said the the GPSr is only good in navigation....

My private/personal time

Hum, everyone has their own unique 'quiet' time. The time when they recharge/reorganize/review or simply 'meditate'. For me personally, i have 2 special types 'quiet' or personal time daily. Simply says that, I preferred not to be disturbed at these times.

First type will be after shower(usually morning & night lah), where i will took some time for relaxing/planning/reorganize myself while dressing up. That why i still @ always go to my ex-bachelor room/workstation upstairs during & after shower. (hope that my BH will understand of why i don't 'transfer' all my clothings downstairs to the 'married' room) . Perhaps i still miss my bachelor room hehe.

Another type will be lunch hour(particular during weekdays), where most of the time I will ate alone. Don't pity me for I don't have any eating partner thought, as i preferred it that way. Yup...perhaps i'm a 'freak' or introvert type of personality hehe. As long as nobody ajak makan, I will be fine by myself. Anyway, it's a perfect timing to ease my mind & reorganize myself after the 1st half of total working hours. Sometime, works can be tiring, so it can also be adjusted from lunch break to 'cat-nap'. I loving it...

PC Fair 2006

Went down to KLCC Convention Center after work for PC Fair III bargain hunting. Parking at KLCC vicinity can be a real issue, that's why i parked my car at K. Avenue which charge only RM 1.00 per entry (special weekend rate). The catch is, had to walk bout 15mins to the convention center via underground pedestrian tunnel. Well, upon reaching the Twin Tower center court (half way through to the convention Center), I was greeted with a big & tall Christmas tree. Wow, it's look fantastic. Yes, Christmas is just round the corner.

PC fair III 2006 is jammed pack with visitors. Tidak ubah macam pasar malam - tolak menolak disana-sini. Personally, i don't have enough breathing space to enjoy or product hunting in this kind of situation. Hum, likewise the infamous Formula 1 race season, GT Queens eh.. i meant PC Queens pun banyak hehe. Hardly get their photograph thou, for too many males bees flocking around.

Took me about 5 hours to survey the whole merchants/'stalls'(at least about 2-3 rounds). Bought myself a 1 GB Mini SD card,a 2GB SD card, 4 Pcs 1000Mha Rechargeable AAA batts & 2 set Batt. casings. As my BH tagged along later in the evening (just returned from LCCT), she bought herself a Fujitsu Notebook. Seem that she overtake me, i like that notebook very much too. Sadly, i don't have enough tusin (in Kadazandusun - 'money') this year for this type of investment. Sabar jelah! Perhaps i can use the sales receipt for personal income tax deduction hehe.

Earlier on, met BernGPS (malsingmaps's forumer) in the fair for Malsingmaps's T-shirt 'handing over' (As usual, we later split up to do our own product quest). At the end of the day, all 3 of us met up again, & had dinner cum fellowship together at Manhattan's Fish Market Restaurant at The Twin Tower.

After filling up the empty stomach, we all finally balik with not empty handed hehe... laughing & smilling all the way for we are satisfied visitor/buyer... tunggu je hujung bulan ni, baru lah rasa sakit bila sudah iso tusin (no money) hehe

The treasure

We are going for the tin mining works today...just kidding. Not much of works available for my 5 Indon laborers recently. So decided to retrieve back the 'cast-in' steel base plat originated from temporary site building(office, store, worker's quarters) Yup, recycle @ reuse it for next project use. Why waste money isn't it. Hope to savage it as many as we can to control construction cost.

The ex-building foundation.

Excavation or concrete slab breaking works in progress. The E200 Hictachi Excavator is a truly mean machine.

The 'nugget'. Collected & tranfered from excavation site by Manitou multipurpose forklift.

'Fine' or clean up hacking/breaking work with electrical breaker by laborer.

And finally, the collected treasures..ready for reuse.
