Darn, they are so 'good'

They did it again!! The target, our main site office storage yard. As reported, it happened at 2.30am, where 7 to 8 masked robber simply take their 'sweet time' carried their loot. Fortunately, they didn't manage to cart away the high tension electrical cable when the guard spotted they & sounded the alarm. However, we loss 3 out of 4 6 meter length aluminium ladder which were kept above the steel cargo container. What the h#@* we hired the guards for...the 'robbery' happened exactly in front of guard post!! Serious, gonna make the Security company bear the losses.

As part of our preparation of our group's silver jubilee(January 2007), BH & I stopped over at UB Uniform Marketing (M) S/B for our "Perayaan Jubli Perak Sabah Catholic Youth Group (SCYG)" T-shirts. 2 variations available, Mini Polo (a.k.a Baby Tee) in pink, suited for ladies & Unisex Collar T-shirt in yellow for all. For the 1st batch, 100 pcs are available for sale at RM25.00. As part of the working committee, we had our name embroided on the tee (additonal cost incured to Rm30.00 each) Personally, i love the tee for it's high quality cotton & precision printed/embriodery works. Depending of demand or sales, 2nd batch production will follow suit.

The visitation

Spent some time at Main Sentul Project office this morning for clerical works. Actually, my clerk is temporary stationed here since Setapak's main office demobilized. So, all the Setapak's correspondent will be handle at this office. Anyway, the Sentul office is still under minor renovation as core personnel is slowing filling to their new workstation. I like the floor plan as it is quite spacey & 'strictly no smoking room' hehe.

Meet the 'Datuk'

Had a chance to meet up with honorable YB Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau (Tuaran, Sabah MP) today. While waiting for the appointed time, few of us had a small TT session at Cafe Biscotti, Dynasty Hotel. Their cakes are recommendable.

There are lots of reason to meet with the Datuk at his hotel suite. Apart of being the honourable MP, 'The Man' was also the founder of Sabah Student Society Action Group(SASSAG) during 80's, where this group evolved to current Sabah Catholic Youth Group(SCYG). We had a great time chatting, sharing & learning from each other. Appreciated all the insight & current reality of Sabahan/Sarawakian's life (as inMalaysia too) at this gathering.

Ps. will never park my car at Dynasty Hotel's in-house parking, costed me a whopping Rm24.00 for duration of 6 hours.

New Site survey

As mentioned earlier, my next posting will be the KTM Sentul - Batu Cave railway project. Had a site visit together with my boss & storekeeper just now. Gonna plan for the new site office/worker quarters layout (preliminary preparation) before 'full-swing' work by early next year.

The long wait

Headed down to Wangsa Maju Post Office for package sending via Poslaju service (a box of GPSr to Bro Noah, at Kuantan & a box of Malsingmaps t-shirts to Bro Songwillie, Penang). It took me 1 hour to queue! There's goes my lunch break...(i held the queue ticket no.1271 from current 1211). Oh man, why just don't people use the online/auto-pay system to settle their common utility bills.

It's the beginning

Ah..the 1st day as somebody's husband & in-law. As per routine, began the Sunday obligation by observing the Lord's day. After the Mass, we had a big family breakfast at Kee V restaurant. I certainly love the hot & spicy ginger pork soup. Hum, both side of the family is really getting along well as they chat & mingle like nobody's business hehe.

Later in the afternoon, the 'ladies' (my mom, in-law & the aunties) decided to go for textile hunting at Nilai 1 & Nilai 3. Naturally, they are a professional 'self-made' tailor, so i won't be surprise about their shopping habit . We went in 3 cars, driven by my dad, my brother & myself. Upon arrival, 7 of them took about 2-3 hours shopping just enough to fill up the car boot with their 'precious'. As for the guys, we found refuge by sitting on the bench, simply tengok kiri, tengok kanan, tengok langit. Darn, it can be very torturing hehe








To wrap up they day, we went down to Putrajaya for photos. Tempat wajib untuk bergambar 'for show-off' katakan untuk orang-orang di kampung. I had to admit that Putrajaya can offer a great & marvelous sceneries (balancing act between greenery & man-made structures).

The bad news is...

Sad, at the end of the day, my main photographer reported to me that he loss almost all our memorable photos. It happened to be that he had misplaced/loss the camera CF card in the ballroom. Pity thought, lot of the photos taken before & during the church blessing gone into thin air. My BH was hurt tremendously...(update: she manage to cool down only after few days). As for me, let by-gone be by-gone, the memory card is nowhere to be found anyway (but i do hope it will return). After all, during the event, we had a lot of 'backup' cameramen among relatives & guest. It is just matter of time to collect & recompile back the loss photos from them.

Just married

Here come the bride! My BH is walking down the aisle as i waited at the altar. The Mass was headed by Rev. Fr Valentine G in Bahasa Malaysia/Kadazan-Duzun language. The church atmosphere is more like 'home', thanks for help & support from Sarawakian/Sabahan's magic touch. About 110 people attended the Mass, mostly from close friends & relatives (i didn't expect large turn-out for the simple church blessing) .

Obviously i almost 'stuck' in my marriage vow, luckily the priest help a bit. Apa boleh buat, jika terlupa atau tidak ikut script, 'hantam' sajalah...asalkan ia ikhlas & jujur.

At the end of the Mass, photo session took over...it took us half hour to stand & snap with the guest hehe. Terlalu banyak jurugambar, sampai sa punya mata mula 'bling-bling' & penat betul mo senyum lebar. The day continued with a thanksgiving luncheon at Prescott Hotel, located nearby the church. To my surprise, the hotel management has provided us a throne for the 'new King & Queen'. After short speeches, we all dig in & enjoyed each other companionship. I was really touched by some open sharing from friends. Yang penting, tidak ada kawan @ tetamu terhormat rasa terpinggir. Thats why i tried to keep the invitation 'small' so that all guest will enjoy the fellowship.

We wish to extent our gratitude especially to our parents & relatives, Rev. Father Valentine G., the Project coordinator- Miss Cornelia, SCYG Members & all the invited guess who made this event a memorable one. We also thanks for all who has help, knowingly or unknowingly, for all the support & prayer. Hope to see you guys again at Sabah - Aramaiti!

Time to go, had a chauffeured ride to church. My heart beats very much as i struggle to remember the wedding vow (perasaan takut macam mahu duduk ujian akhir semester hehe). I hate to be in the spotlight, & worry that i'm might makig a fool out myself.

Hehe...I'm the 'King' for today..planned to wake up late, but was given a 'wake-up' call by Alfred from Sg Buloh. (Didn't have a bachelor party last night thought. In fact i was chatting with my pianist, Mr Verus on PA/Audio/cable peripherals till wee hours). Miss Conelia (our Wedding coordinator) & Mr Valentinus( our appointed driver of the day)are the busiest people among us. All the protocol, choir, logistic & luncheon event will be manage by them. Well, as BH is getting dress up & got herself makeup by professional makeup artist, i'm busy remembering & practicing my wedding vow.

There are 2 gadgets that I'm regret of getting it or totally under utilized., which are The Magellan Platinum Plus GPS receiver & Fujitsu Loox PDA.

hehe..today, Bro Noah (EC-R Main mapper) is offering a new hope for my Magellan GPSr, where he gonna find some ways to create or convert existing maps to Magellan compatibility. In order to assist him, i'm gonna ship my 'collecting dust' device to him pronto!

The 24 hrs countdown

Time is coming up, so no play-play anymore. Expected to be busy in last minute preparation... need to pick-up 'core' or 'key person' for the big day tomorrow (the pianist, The MC, The Flower ladies - who will stay overnight at my house today). While my parent & BH busy doing some deco & Wedding/traditional dress fitting, i just sitting at my own workstation reading forums hehe. BH Parents & relatives will be arriving soon from Sabah this evening too. Quite surprisingly, i felt much relax & cheerful. Maybe because i took leave from work started today & had a extreme 'long' good night sleep.

What can i do without you?

3 days already being abstained from drinking coffee for evening 'dose' (Common practice, without fail, i will drank with minimum twice a day - once in the morning (6.30am) & once in the evening ( between 3-5pm) )..why am i suddenly abstained from drinking coffee? Definitely not because of health problem issue or something. It just that i don't hot water & coffee making materials in mini office recently hehe. Yup, so what if i'm a cheapskate, not worth of spending money at local 'mamak' stall if i can brew it myself. Hope to get mini boiler soon.

Hum, talking about the side effects of lacked caffeine in my system. Firstly, I'm not very active at night as before, where i used to watch news or movies till 11pm or doing some studies or research. Secondly, getting 'piss-off' easily(must admit that my brain is not functioning very well). Then, have a slight headache/migrain today! For 'coffehollic' people like me, i used to it already (the side effect). I'm addicted to it, & i hope to find a simple way or solution for 'detoxification'.

My blog update/review..

I'm being thinking....trying to come out something interesting for my blog (Personally, this is only place that i can express my thoughts, feelings, etc..guess that my 'inter-human communication skill" is extremely poor. Oh well, it's about my life, this is how i want to share it)....Major obstacles: First of all, I'm not a very creative graphic or web designer. Other than that, i'm bad in English story telling or journalism hehe. Hope that my 'fan' out there (whoever you are, thanks!) can accept all the weakness that i have. Please bear with me as i'm still learning doing the best that i could. Peace be with you.

Getting myself OTC?

Perhaps being thinking too much (or nervous?)...Being forgetful or absent minded lately... today was 'locking' myself out from my own bedroom as i forget to bring along my entrance key & electronic key card when heading out for work. 2 days ago, almost left my HP at the same room. Even my 'never leave home without it' multi-tool penknife is not spared last Friday!

In worse case scenario, i simply can be 'lost in mind' till i took the wrong heading to a destination where i frequently travel....

Getting stress up...

It's aways a life concept for me to follow this golden rule: "Suffer(or work hard) first, happy(or freedom) later". Well, it being 2 years of resources (money) preparation...2 years of mental training...2 years of 'life changing' planning. Finally it almost come to an end. Am i ready to face the real 'married' life. Personally, resources is really getting on my nerve!! All the saving & planning prove to be not enough. In fact, after quite some time, my personal Stress-O-Meter given out warning sign already (will talk further on this).

The wedding preparation is really taking a toll in term of my financial planning. It started well in term of finance& planning. We had planned & agreed upon to have a simple wedding ceremony & receptions, but unfortunately, it end up 'grand' instead. Yup, peoples said, it just a matter of 'one time' thingy. Please la, this is our big day that you guys talking & gamble about. (IMHO, it's not a good long term investment too), I prefer spending our money according to our own mean. It's not that i won't spent much on it, but rather allocate those money for the honeymoon 0r holiday. I want to have extra cash on honeymoon with my BH, i want to have extra cash to save on stock or investments, & i want to have extra cash for my future child's education, etc. Sadly, all the reserved 'honeymoon' money had being used up for the 'overspent' or rather 'extra' incur marriage preparation. Hopefully that i don't have a 'sour face' throughout my wedding day.

Bottom line is... i don't want to have this type of mentality "Jolly-jolly first, & suffer(or pay up) later!"

From manual to rechargeble batt powered toothbrush.

Yup, toothbrush...it might not be new for the early adopters of this 'high tech' tooth cleaning system, but poking extra $$ for this type of toothbrush is certainly quite thrilling. Nah, bought myself a Oral-B CrossAction Power Max for about RM 79.00 after being 'poisoned' by my Asst. Site Manager, Mr Chooi. Oh well, another proved that I'm a gadget freak.

At first, it kinda funny to 'work' with this gadget, as it emit 'buzzing' sound from it's bristles & moving parts (sounded like a construction work in progress in the bathroom hehe). Apparently, if i removed the removeable/replaceable bristle head, the internal motor run quietly. Shh.. this can be a good 'vibrator' for that special moment hehe (if you get what i mean *twisted*). Anyway, it does deliver result as claimed. With it's powerful brush rotating & cleaning power, my teeth is cleaner & polished white, if compared to 'manual' actions (ok..ok.. maybe I'm just damn lazy to brush my teeth by my own self) . Apart from that, I'm having less proned to gum problems & fresher breath. In fact, it reduced tremendously the hard-to-remove brown coffee stain on my teeth (heavy coffee drinker here hehe). As per single full charge batt, it can run up to 2 weeks without fail (standard 3 minutes per brushing, 2 times a day). Not sure how long is the lifespan the internal Li-polymer, but i hope it can last up to 2 years.

The verdit, after about 4 months of usage...it worth the penny (no need to be a rich man to enjoy it, & it also offer 'extra' benefit. Hint..hint..). Another added bonus, can do my part of preserving the environment too as i need only to replace the small part of bristle head, as to compare to throw away the hold piece of conventional toothbrush in rubbish dump. Oh, please observes the proper way of discard this product in later time. Safe the earth!!

I just love school holiday!!

Thank God, it's finally a school holiday season...hehe, not that I'm on leave or got something to do with school activities, simply love the smooth traffic flow in the morning. No stress, no rush & can safe up to 10% fuel intake.

Work in the dark - My home workstation

It's time to refresh or reformat my home PC. Being doing it annually to ensure my 4 year old PC work on tip-top condition. After all, too many unrelated software installed & some of them messed up my system. Formating & reinstall all critical programs only took me bout 40 minutes.

1 more week to go for the church blessing/wedding ceremony. My BH is definitely busy adjusting & arranging all the necessary stuffs to make this event a success.


I'm glad to have her around, doing/manage all this protocol from the beginning (The 'appointed' Manager) because I'm totally hopeless in this kind of marriage event & management. Personally, I'm best in doing or leading the 'external' projects (at work or organization), but speechless in handling my own big day.

Today especially, we was busy with a meeting (for SCYG Jubilee preparations), choir practice & rehearsal for the big day. Thanks to all Sabah Catholic Youth Group (SCYG) members for their dedication & support despite of their final term examinations (mostly they are from UKM's undergraduates).

I'm started to get nervous during the full rehearsal at Holy Family kajang Church, which headed by Rev. Father Valentine G. So much of things that i still naive in... can't even hold my bride 'romantically'. Received lots of guidance especially from Uncle Henry, who will be my witness for that day. Hope to remain calm & steady on the actual day.

After the whole day of 'work', we rewarded ourself with great supper & mini fellowship at popular Haji Samuri's Satay Kajang hot spot.

I not a 'dedicated' driver.

At certain time, i just don't really like to drive a car - particularly at hot & sunny noon!! Can get very moody when someone asked me to go here & there without my 'own freewill'. It's not that i won't obliged, but i prefer the journey to be pre-planned & timed properly - to save resources ma (time, energy & petrol especially).

As reported by the security chief & night watchmen: at 2.30am, 7 face covered men with sticks & parang broke into our newly completed apartment's steel hoarding. They might be going after the lightning copper strips which are installed on at the 18's storey roof (high resale value), or internal unit wiring cable, or the steel water meter block. Whatever it is, they are up to no good.




Thank God, the attempted robbery was stop/chased away by the our security firm's rotweiler dog who stood on guard at the block. Upon further inspection, not lost in property reported.

For record, this is the fouth incidents (3 times losses in copper strip & electrical cable) in 6 months period. Setapak will not be a safe heaven if the relevant authority never regulate the safety patrol & control the 'mushrooming' illegal scrap collection center.

I'm stuck!

At 5.30 pm Massive traffic jam in the city..The main contributors: It's Friday, heavy rain, eve of school holiday & definitely, mad rush home from work.


Short journey from Jln Semarak to Jln Ampang (about 4.5km) took me 1.5 hours!! From the Hitz.fm traffic report, stop & crawl traffic condition extented up to NS Highway via Tun Razak road. To save on expensive fossil fuel & filling up the empty stomach, BH & i had a 'pit-stop' at K Avenue. Enjoyed our time at Secret Recipe Cakes & Cafe, ordered ourselves 2 cup of cappuccino, Meat ball spagetti, Chicken Cordon BL, & 2 slice of cake (my fav. maggo delight & Tiramisu cake)

Was thinking that after 8pm, the traffic might be easing...proved that i was wrong again...traffic was remain standstill at Jln Tun Razak. Sabar je lah, lagipun perut sudah berisi & tak 'rushing' pulang rumah hehe.

Being about a week now since we 'transfer' to mini office. All office telecommunication is out, except on our own personal handphone. Hope that the company refurbish our prepaid top up card for official calls hehe.

For safety reason, i had sent out all PC equipments back to our EDP department at HQ. To date, I reserved only 1 HP deskjet colour printer to compliment my personal notebook for impromptu paper work.






Without the fix broadband service, had to rely on my Celcom 3G mobile services via E61 smartphone as modem. It's a bitter sweet affair as the broadband is fairly unstable. Can't blame the telco as my mini office is sandwich between 2 18 storey high apartments.

Worker's quarters caught fire!

"Api! api!" shouted by canteen lady who spotted the fire at one of my worker's room. It turn out that the Main electrical distribution board (DB) caught fire & produce thick smoke. Luckily no casualties & major damage of property.

During further investigation, found out the illegal 'tapping'/connections by the Indonesian labourer might be the main culprit with caused the DB to be overload. In fact, the electrical system is not properly grounded. To avoid futher damage, i had to stop all demolition works of main site office & divert it for major rewiring works for the quarters & mini site office. Had to put my hand dirty, educate & ensure that the worker on proper wiring job. Personally, i don't have any background of electrical works before. Big thank you to my site manager (Mr Beh) & electrical sub-con, who without fail guiding & pass down knowledge till i 'graduate' in electrical.

Pulling the plug

7 years of service, finally my main site office declared 'off-commision' by terminating the telecomunication & electrical service It will be replace with 'mini' office nearby for maintainance & record keeping. It is time for demolition work!!

After about a year of delay & redtape from the client, finally TNB contractor manage to come & start the main AC cable laying work for my Blk D (PPR Seri Semarak). Hopefully my client can solve up issues between PUAS regarding PRV enclosure installation.

Finally, I'm a MAN.

"Now, you're a Man, no longer a boy/baby"- That's what my mum said to me after the declaring of oath, signing & receiving the Marriage certificate this morning.. Sedih juga mendengarnya.

The whole process of 'Legal' Civil Marriage Registration took about 15 minutes (about 9.45am), where it is done in a very simple but in unique way. Glad that all my family members, my BH's relatives (Her parents are not able to make it here due to logistic problems) & the honourable witnesses come who make this historic moment a sucessful one.

hehe... I was not nervous, even though that i forget to bring my neck tie to compliment my new YB suit. Luckily, my manage to bollow the tie from my brother who happened to wear it that time. Maklumlah, i'm not the type of guy who like to wear 'exclusive & elegant' dress code.

Am i really ready to be someone's husband & father soon? This thoughts always 'playing' in my mind as tomorrow will be the ultimate 'judgement day' hehe. Perasaan gembira ada, perasaan takut pun ada. Perasaan tak yakin pada dir sendiri juga timbul. Hum, perhap that i afraid of letting anybody down or simply cannot affort to meet my BH's or family's expectations. Whatever it is, it's a major walkthrough & critical life decision-making for me. Nothing can change my mind now. In good or bad, in rich or poor, in good health or the opposite...i'm gonna be a better man. In God we trust.

Insight - Personal Track Safety Certification course.

KTMB Training Center (near KTM commuter Sentul) is located at the middle of YTL's Sentul Raya project. Glad to see the natural greeneries are preserved by the developer.

The 2 day course are consist of classroom lectures,on-site visit & 30 questionnaire examination. As the name suggest, this course it all about Personal Safety while working on railway tracks. Do note that without KTMB 038 certificate, nobody is allow to work at railway tracks.This is crucial as there is a lot of incident that took life away very easy.

1st day is all bout safety theory, fundamental of railway system in Malaysia. Class supposed to start at 8.45am, but as per Malaysian Time Policy (some people are simply insensitive about being punctual!!), we only managed to begin class at 9.30am. Our facilitator/lecturer, Mr Kalaivanan, able to conduct the class in trilingual at 30 people class. Basically, the lecture is fun & informative.

2nd day - Railway station & operational field trip. Participants were given the chance to go 'behind the scene' of daily commuter railway services. Apart from that, practical training on 'real site' are also conducted to 'refresh' our tired mind from yesterday's long lecture hehe. After the site-seeing & further tutorials, the 30 question exam took place. It is very easy & guaranteed 100% passing marks.

The KTMB 038 Certificate

Yahoo!!...I'm gonna be attending "Personal Track Safety Course - Certificate KTMB 038" from 9-10 Nov 2006 (tomorrow). A big gratitude to my Project Coordinator who recommending me to take up this course together with him & 2 others from the company. Totally sponsored (total cost will be RM250 per person), hope that my brain is not rusty & able to catch up the the 'lectures'.

My telco / service operator the main culprit (Part 2)

Finally, the mystery is solved... Found out the E61 full net access was 'handicapped' by my own wrong settings.. After checking through all the Celcom 3G connection settings, i was making a big mistake by inserting 'extra' Proxy IP address & Port at the advance menu (previously i had followed the old GPRS settings). Not again?

Not feeling well since yesterday afternoon...slight migrain attacked. Can't really consentrate in my work or even leisure!! In fact, keep vomiting till my whole 'lunch' in stomach gone hehe. Only after 4 pills of panadol (2 pills in between hours), the pain easing down. So, today i'm on 'observation mode', hope no futher attack.

The Victorinox Swiss Army knives

One of my 'never leave home without it' gadgets will be the Victorinox Swiss Army knives. Every knife or multitool has it own purpose & usage in my daily walk of life.

Swiss Army knife "Spartan" is my 1st knife since 1992 (or i much prefered as MacGyver's knife), received from my dad for camping & hiking (Scout activities). Basic knife but with a punch of funtionalities. Eventualy, my friend lost it when i borrowed it to him. But in year 2005, i get this knife 'back' as part of my Credit Card's redemption program.I kept it at my hometown 'full time' after airline's baggage restrictions.

With good offer from ACE Hardware (Year 2000), both my bro & i bought the Swiss Army Cybertools for about RM 300. Great tool to compliment pc & electronic hobby. I lost mine during my site office flooded in July 2001, suspected that my foreign worker stole it!! Anyway, i use my brother's multitools for now.

As mentioned earlier bout the 'good offer', this Swiss Card Quattro comes free with the Swiss Army Cybertool. Credit card size is really handy & versatile for my 'emergency' use. Kept it in my sling bags in wherever i go.

Feb 2002, again with a good offer from ACE Hardware, i bought the Swiss Champ, simply to 'replace' my missing Cybertool. A bit bulky, but promise to provide all the multi-purpose solutions at anytime. Used it for work & play alike. Sold this baby out to my friend on Aug 2005.

Small but deadly, that's is what i can describe amout this 'baby'...The Swiss Mini "Signature" is my most utilized & ultimate gadget everyday. Get it for free during Swiss Champ purchased. 'Full-time' at my pant's pockets during work & outing. Good enough to do small cutting via it's mini blade or scissor. No pen no scribble & or jot down notes, that 'baby' help too with built in replaceable pen.

Dubbed as "Mother of all tools", i bought the Swiss Tool for RM 400 come with tool pouch & Solitaire flashlight (Aug 2005). Use it mainly for my construction works or any heavy DIY at home. With it's tough, versatile & robust design, it's really a reliable tool to be around.

That's all about my knifes or multi-tools.. Expect to upgrade more new tools, but that's will be another story. Don't leave home without it, never will know the times when we need it most. Cheers.
